Fortisip Drinks
Bread and butter pudding
Ingredients
  • 1 slice of brown or white bread, buttered
  • 1 egg
  • 1 bottle Fortisip Compact, vanilla flavour
  • Icing sugar to dust
  • Pouring custard to serve if desired (see separate recipe)
Method
  1. Preheat the oven to 180C/350F/Gas Mark 4.
  2. Cut the bread into eight small triangles and arrange the bread in a buttered ovenproof ramekin or small dish.
  3. Crack the egg into a bowl and whisk in the Fortisip Compact.
  4. Pour the egg and Fortisip Compact mix slowly over the bread and leave for 15 minutes to soak in the liquid.
  5. Place in the oven and bake for 25 minutes, or until golden brown and set**.
  6. Serve warm.
Macaroni cheese and tomato
Ingredients
  • 1 packet 108g macaroni cheese pasta and sauce
  • 1 bottle Fortisip Compact neutral flavour
  • 60ml (4 tbsps) boiling water
  • 15g grated cheddar cheese
  • 1 tomato, sliced
Method
  1. Place the macaroni cheese in a small pan, add the bottle of Fortisip Compact.
  2. Add 2 tbsps boiling water and cook over a gentle heat, stirring continuously**.
  3. As the sauce become thick add another tablespoon of water and repeat until the pasta is cooked (this takes approximately eight minutes).
  4. Place the macaroni cheese in a heatproof dish, sprinkle with the cheese and place the tomato on top.
  5. Grill until the cheese has melted.

Irish delight
Ingredients
  • 1 bottle Fortisip Compact (mocha flavour)
  • 25ml Irish Cream liqueur (e.g. Baileys™)**
  • Crushed ice
Method

Mix the Fortisip Compact and Irish Cream liqueur together and pour into a glass over crushed ice.

Mushroom and cheese omlette
Ingredients
  • 10g butter & 1 tsp (5ml) oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 30g (2 tbsps) grated cheese
  • Salt and pepper
  • 1 bottle Fortisip Compact, neutral flavour
  • 3 mushrooms, washed and sliced
Method
  1. Crack the eggs into a bowl and whisk in the grated cheese, salt and pepper.
  2. Add the bottle of Fortisip Compact and beat well.
  3. Heat the oil and butter in an omelette pan and gently fry the mushrooms until they just start to colour.
  4. Remove the mushrooms from the pan.
  5. Pour the omelette mixture into the hot pan and fork through the mixture until the base of the omelette begins to set**.
  6. Place the pan under the grill and cook until the omelette is risen and golden all over.
  7. Place the cooked mushrooms on top and serve immediately.

Pancakes with honey
Ingredients
  • 75g self raising flour
  • 1 egg
  • 1 bottle Fortisip Compact, vanilla flavour
  • 15ml (1tbsp) oil (of your choice for frying)
  • 25ml honey or syrup
Method
  1. Place the flour into a mixing bowl, add the egg and bottle of Fortisip Compact, and mix well together.
  2. Leave to stand whilst heating the oil in a frying pan.
  3. Place 2 dessert spoons of mixture into the pan to make one pancake.
  4. Repeat to make six pancakes.
  5. Fry until the pancake begins to form bubbles on the top; turn the pancake over and cook the other side**.
  6. Serve three pancakes in a stack and pour over the honey or syrup.

*Tip: The pancakes will keep overnight in the refrigerator.
